Spencer Shaefer died in an automobile accident at the age of 50. He was T-boned by another car. Spencer was handsome, but shy. We spent many a Friday night on the town and playing cards at Jerry Brown's house.
Spencer went to Ohio State for short time and then moved to Las Vegas, where he managed a hotel. I stopped by to see him on a cross country trip in 1964 and stayed at the hotel. We both got married in 1966, but did not attend each other's wedding.
We lost track of each other after that, until his cousin Sheila, also Shaker '59, exchanged communications with me about the 50th reunion. I asked her the whereabouts of Spencer, to get together for the reunion. She told me Spencer had died in a car accident in '91, may he rest in peace, and that Bob Gould was not in good health, may he rest in peace.
