David S. Pizzini, age 67, of Michigan City, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at his residence. A musical memorial service will be presented by his folk music friends on Sunday, October 5th, at 3:00 p.m. at International Friendship Gardens. Songs about "moving on"- sailing, railroading, traveling and change will be presented. Friends and the community are invited. A pitch in supper will follow on the grounds. Mr. Pizzini was born on December 12, 1940 in Shaker Heights, Ohio to William and Elizabeth (Stewart) Pizzini. On July 3, 1965 in Canton, Ohio, he married Marti Hegnauer. She survives in Michigan City. Also surviving is a daughter Sarah Kathleen (William) Hixson of Huntersville, NC. Dave received his Master in Social Work in 1968 and worked for 34 years helping troubled families, prisoners, and youth. He was an amateur luthier and used his skills to build musical instruments and repair those of his friends.
